About Shubhangi Vijay Sakpal
Shubhangi Vijay Sakpal, Director of Sakpal’s Studio, is a passionate and seasoned artist who earned her B.F.A. in Fine Art and Illustration from Sir J. J. School of Fine Art, Mumbai, between 1989 and 1993. Over the last 30 years, she has built a rich and diverse artistic journey, participating in key exhibitions such as those by the Maharashtra State Art Society, Art Society of India, and Jehangir Art Gallery. Her talent has also gained international attention, with her artworks featured at the Busan International Art Fair in South Korea (2019–2021) and at the Birla Academy in Kolkata during the 2020 Quartet Confluence show. She has been honoured with the Dhamrela Ramrao Award (2020) and recognition from the Tirupati Art Society (2023) for her contributions to Indian art.
Shubhangi’s work spans a wide creative spectrum—from mural and sculpture painting to large-scale museum and public art projects. Some of her notable works include a powerful depiction of Shivaji’s coronation for Dr. D. Y. Patil College and murals for institutions such as Bhumiraj Developers, Banasthali Vidyapith, and the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. She has also brought her artistic vision to national events like the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath in both 2014 and 2022. Currently, she is working on museum design projects in Chalisgaon and Ajmer, reflecting her dedication to preserving cultural heritage through art.
