About Prof. Dr. Vijay Gopal Sakpal

Prof. Dr. Vijay Gopal Sakpal, the Creative Director at Sakpal’s Studio, is a deeply respected artist and educator whose journey in the world of fine arts has spanned more than 30 years. He completed his Master’s in Fine Art from the renowned Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 1993 and went on to earn a Doctorate from Banasthali Vidyapith, Jaipur. Over the years, he has received numerous awards for his exceptional work in watercolors, portraits, and landscapes, including the Ratan Wadke Prize and top honors from prestigious art bodies such as the Art Society of India and Maharashtra State Art Exhibition.

Known for his versatile artistic abilities, Dr. Sakpal’s work has been part of esteemed collections like the Bhawani Museum in Satara and Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. He has shared his skills and vision across the globe, with live demonstrations in cities like New York and London, and participation in events like the Korea Mumbai Biennale. A passionate mentor, he has conducted workshops and has been actively involved in nurturing future artists, including his role as Fine Art Exam Coordinator for Maharashtra’s CET Cell since 2016. His commissioned projects include murals, museum designs, and public art for institutions across India, reflecting both his creative depth and cultural sensitivity.
