About Prof. Vijay V. Bondar

Prof. Vijay V. Bondar approaches each canvas and commission with a painter’s soul and an architect’s precision. A proud alumnus of Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, he topped both his BFA (2005) and MFA (2007) programs in Drawing & Painting before unveiling his first solo oil exhibitions—“Untitled‑7” at Birla Academy and “Untitled‑8” at Jehangir Art Gallery—in 2008. Nearly a decade later, he returned to Jehangir with “Untitled 16,” a collection that signaled new directions in his work.

Beyond the gallery walls, Vijay eagerly shares his craft: he’s been a featured artist at the international “Drawing Box” camp in Nagothane and led workshops at the National Contemporary Artists gathering in Rohtak. His public art commissions turn everyday spaces into immersive experiences—from the dynamic Maharashtra Pavilion at Delhi’s India International Trade Fair to sweeping murals and sculptural accents at the Naval Dockyard. He’s also created bespoke installations for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the Indian Railways’ civil engineering institute in Pune, and the Ministry of Tourism. In every project, Vijay Bondar combines vibrant storytelling with meticulous technique, leaving a lasting impression on both walls and viewers alike.
